What is Serbest Yazın?
Serbest Yazın is a platform that is constituted by volunteer students who study at the Turkish Language and Literature Department at Bogazici University. The organization aims to support the resistance which has begun with the antidemocratic rector appointment on January 2 depending on the literature discipline. It endeavors to be able to create an alternative academy that guarantees an inclusive, non-discriminatory, and safe ground for discussions against attacks that target freedom of speech and critical thinking in the university.

What does the Serbest Yazın do?
Serbest Yazın sets its agenda to elevate the motto of free university. The platform performs its mission without giving permission to hateful conduct and hierarchical structure while advocating autonomy in the universities. It organizes open lectures and events that encourage discussion of current issues to strengthen the resistance and spread solidarity.
